Stella Quarta Decima is excited to announce its inaugural exhibition, ANTICIPATION as part of 2020 Vision: Reflecting on a World Changing Year, a statewide initiative of the Vermont Curators Group. Stella Quarta Decima (SQD) Gallery was born out of a year of drastic change.  This period of strained stillness allowed for me, a young curator and art historian to connect with artists Matthew Monk, Hannah Morris, James Rauchman, Lynn Newcomb, Diane Sophrin, and Kate Burnim to form this gallery: we came together with a mission of connecting Vermonters and the arts community at large with a distinctive and divergent group of contemporary Vermont artists. – Ben Ward

ANTICIPATION features work made by the artists before or at the very beginning of the pandemic, and work made near the end of the pandemic.  While the artworks in this exhibition range from mixed media collage to sculpture, they all reflect our excitement as we emerge from year of change and reflection into a year of movement and new possibilities.
